Hallo Leute,
Auto giant, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, has launched its top SUV models at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy, marking its foray into Europe. Of the five models showcased, three are variants of the Bolero family - the Bolero GLX, the Bolero Double Cab and the Bolero Single Cab, the fourth is the Scorpio, launched in Italy as the 'Mahindra Goa' and the fifth being the MM540. All five models have enjoyed tremendous success in India with the Scorpio having sold 29,000 units in its first 18 months while the Bolero variants have clocked sales of 18,000 units during the past seven months.
M&M did not disclose the price points chosen in Europe for its products. About 60-70 vehicles spanning the five selected models have been shipped for initial sales in Italy, Spain and Portugal.
Hier noch ein Ausschnitt:
The company has partnered with Eurasia Motors for distribution of its vehicles across 25 centres in Italy, M&M said in a release. The models showcased at the show include the three variants of the Bolero - the Bolero GLX, Bolero Double Cab and single cab, Scorpio which would be launched in Italy as 'Mahindra Goa' and MM540, it said. The distribution focus for the Bolero platform vehicles would predominantly revolve on smaller towns as opposed to big cities, keeping in mind the nature of terrain in semi-urban Italy while the Scorpio would focus on big cities.
“Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, India's biggest utility vehicles maker, will begin selling its products in Europe in December as part of a plan to nearly double exports in two years, a company official said.
Mahindra's vice-president (international business) PN Shah said the company would launch its vehicles in Italy in the first week of December during an international business exhibition.
They would later be introduced in Spain, Portugal and France and smaller countries like Serbia and Macedonia by its Italy-based distributor, Eurasia Motors.
"We want to focus on exports as part of our overall strategy. It will be our entire (utility vehicles) product line, Scropio, Bolero and its variants and the pick-up," Shah said.
Mahindra, which has a 46 per cent share of India's utility vehicles market, sold 65,852 units in the past fiscal year to March. Its also exported 1,061 vehicles, including utility vehicles and light commercial vehicles.”
